2011 European Gasshuku is a huge success

The European Gasshuku 2011 turns out to be a great success.

During the first 5 days in June the KKJN organized the Koryu Uchinadi European Gassuku 2011. With many participants from 14 different countries (4 different continents) a big boost has been given to the level of Koryu Uchinadi . Under the guidance of Sensei Darrin Johnson and Sensei Jim Sindt the participants reviewed the curriculum, learned new techniques, kata and applications in both Koryu Uchinadi as well as in Yamane Ryu Kobudo.

Many elements of the martial arts were practiced, a.o.Heishu futari geiko, Kaishu futari geiko, Keri waza, Happoren kata, Wando kata, Yonekawa no kon, Koryu no kama, Ne-waza. In addition a specific workshop on Shuriken throwing brought new experiences to many people.

On behalf of the dutch KU and IRKRS representation I thank all participants for the shared friendship and hard work, I thank Sensei Jim and Sensei Darrin for their enthusiasm (enlighted with humor) and teaching (great performance) and I thank Sensei McCarthy for the insights in Koryu uchinadi.
